Web Services is a cost recovery center within Rice University.  Our services are available to Rice departments, schools, centers, institutes, programs or groups within the university. In special cases, we can take on work for tightly-coupled projects that involve another group or institution outside of Rice.  However, the primary initiator of such a project must be a Rice department.  Work performed must be billable to a Rice fund and org.

Most of our work is billed at a standard $65.00 per hour - that covers all programming and developer work, graphic design, project management, content entry, testing, and other tasks connected with your project. If we need to purchase an auxillary product as part of the project, such as a security certificate for a secure site, those costs will be passed through to you as well. The quotation for your project should anticipate and estimate such costs for you so you have a complete view of the planned costs.
